(Zoologie) Quatrième et dernière poche de l'estomac des ruminants, équivalent à l'estomac monogastrique, qui sécrète des acides et enzymes digestives pour la digestion finale.
Le quatrième estomac est l'abomasum. Cet estomac est similaire à celui des non-ruminants. Il secrète un acide fort et de nombreuses enzymes digestives. Chez les non-ruminants, les aliments ingérés y arrivent directement et y sont digérés. Par contre, le matériel qui entre dans l'abomasum d'un ruminant provient du rumen.
