• (Géologie) Processus par lequel la terre gagne sur la mer dans des zones d'accrétion telles que les deltas, caractérisé par une avancée du littoral ou du fond marin.

  Le terme « progradation », proposé par les auteurs anglo-saxons, exprime l'idée de progression vers le large de la plate-forme continentale par accrétion frontale du talus sédimentaire.

As temperatures rise (especially above 0 °C), freshwater runoff increases, causing the progradation researchers found.
